Contradictory: Art, Globalization and Belonging

The complex of economic, technological and political changes called globalization impacts the ways of expressing the idea of belonging to the place where one lives. In this context, how is the relationship between “local” and “global”? Contradictory encourages reflection regarding issues that, from time to time, return in different forms to the debate of those following contemporary visual arts. After all, will these issues ever be resolved? Is there a single definitive answer for so many contradictions? The balance proposed by Moacir dos Anjos is, surely, an update on themes that insist in promoting unrest and instigating artists in a constantly transforming world.
