A Day Like Any Other – Rivane Neuenschwander

This book provides the first panorama of Rivane Neuenschwander’s work and tracks her touring exhibition in different museums, such as the IMMA (Irish Museum of Modern Art) in Ireland or the Miami Art Museum, in the USA. To speak of an artist who explores a wide variety of materials and media in a dialogue with human experience and what is most ephemeral and fleeting, one cannot adopt a single voice: five bilingual essays of different connoisseurs of art will then complete the photographic records of his works over the years. In addition to over 200 images depicting not only the works themselves but the public’s contact with them, the book also features detailed references by the artist, ranging from Duchamp and the nouvelle vague to regional and religious culture.

About the artist
Rivane Neuenschwander was born in 1967 in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil. The work of Neuenschwander is in important public collections, such as: ALTANA Kulturstiftung im Sinclair-Haus, Germany; Ellipse Foundation, Portugal; “la Caixa” Foundation, Spain; Arco Foundation, Spain; Inhotim Contemporary Art Center, Brazil; Jumex Contemporary Art Foundation, Mexico; MACAM - Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona, Spain; MAM - Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo, Brazil; MAM - Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and MoMA - The Museum of Modern Art, USA.
