Erika Verzutti

The book Erika Verzutti includes 104 of Versutti’s works from the period of 2008 to 2013, with her characteristic mix of humor, beauty, eroticism, alienation and violence. Working in bronze and concrete, she uses the forms of fruits, vegetables, stones, paint brushes, wood and other objects to produce her unique works. Her work Bicho de sete cabeças (7 Headed Monster), one of her most famous sculptures, was produced in collaboration with artists such as Adriana Varejão, Nuno Ramos and Ernesto Neto. This publication also brings an essay by the art critic José Augusto Ribeiro about Verzutti’s work.

Erika Verzutti was born in São Paulo, Brazil, where she lives and works. The work of Verzutti is in important public collections, such as: Arizona State University Museum – ASU Art Museum, Tempe, USA; Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, USA; Colección Cisneros, Caracas, Venezuela; Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation, Miami, USA; François Pinault Collection, France; Instituto Inhotim, MG, Brasil; Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo, São Paulo, Brasil; Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, São Paulo, Brasil; Solomon R. She has held several solo exhibitions, among which are: Chunk, Misako & Rosen Gallery, Tokyo (2018); Ex Gurus, Andrew Kreps Gallery, New York (2018); Swan with Stage”, Sculpture Center, New York, USA (2015); Two Eyes, Two Mouths and Alison Jacques Gallery, London, UK (2015).
